Where can you take IELTS and PTE in Karnal?

IDP's booking form on 9 October 2026 listed IELTS on computer and IELTS for UKVI sessions in Karnal on 43 dates between 12 October and 30 December 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Writing on Paper dates were also listed.

IDP marks Karnal as accessible and names it as the alternative for test takers with disabilities who would otherwise book Dehradun. Life Skills is not offered in Karnal; the nearest Life Skills cities on IDP's list are Chandigarh and New Delhi.

Kurukshetra is in IDP's directory but was not offered as a test city in the booking form, so Karnal is its nearest lab. Ambala had IDP sessions in the booking form, and the next permanent labs are Chandigarh, Gurugram and the Delhi labs.

For PTE, the nearest other centres are HCL Tech - Kurukshetra and HCL Tech - Ambala (in Ambala Cantt), and Pearson's own centre in Gurugram.

There is no local price: IDP and Pearson each charge one fee across India, so Karnal costs the same as Delhi or Kerala. IELTS figures are from IDP India's fee page and match the prices IDP's booking form showed for Karnal-area sessions on 9 October 2026; PTE figures are from Pearson's price finder. Refund and transfer rules are in our IELTS fee in India and PTE fee in India guides.

IELTS: on IDP India's site choose Register for IELTS, then the test (IELTS on Computer, IELTS Writing on Paper, IELTS for UKVI or Life Skills), the module, and Karnal - Shyam Nagar as the test city; the dates and session times shown there are the live ones (how to register). You can also register in person at an IDP branch or registration partner. Upload a clear colour scan of your passport when you book and bring the original on test day. Speaking can fall on a different day, up to 7 days before or after the written test.

PTE: on pearsonpte.com choose the test first (Academic, Academic UKVI, Core or Home), then type Karnal or the nearest centre city; only centres with slots for that test appear, and slots open at least 24 hours ahead (Pearson's booking guide). Enter your name exactly as on your passport, middle names in Given names; details can be corrected up to 3 days before the test, and a mismatch on the day means no test and no refund.

Results: IDP says most IELTS on computer results arrive within 2 days, Writing on Paper results after 7 calendar days, and Life Skills results within seven days. Pearson says most PTE Academic results arrive within two business days, occasionally up to five.
