All IDP IELTS cities in India, by state

The table groups every Indian city in IDP India's test centre directory by state, read on 9 October 2026 (the directory also lists Thimphu in Bhutan). Cities marked with a dagger (†) have a permanent IELTS on computer lab on IDP's list of computer-delivered centres or its UKVI-approved centre list; the number in brackets is the number of labs.

IDP's directory calls every city on it an IDP IELTS registration test centre; the exact venue and format for each date appear in the booking form when you choose your test city. We leave out addresses and phone numbers on purpose because they change; use the official links instead.

Which centres offer IELTS for UKVI and One Skill Retake?

IELTS for UKVI must be taken at a UKVI-approved centre. On IDP India's UKVI centre list, every lab is marked UKVI Approved except Barnala and Khanna, and Mangaluru does not appear on it. That leaves UKVI testing in 36 cities: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Anand, Bathinda, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Goa, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Karnal, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mehsana, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Patiala, Pune, Rajkot, Surat, Thane, Trivandrum, Vadodara, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

Every lab on that list is also marked for One Skill Retake, including Barnala and Khanna. If you might need a retake, book your full test at one of these labs.

Accessibility differs by lab. IDP flags some labs as having limited access for people with disabilities and names an alternative: Ludhiana instead of Barnala or Khanna, Amritsar instead of Bathinda or Jalandhar, Chandigarh Sector 34 instead of Sector 17, Vadodara instead of Bhopal, Karnal instead of Dehradun and Calicut instead of Kochi.

How to choose a centre

Price is not a factor: IDP charges INR 19,000 in every city. What differs is how many sessions a city has, which formats it offers, and how far you must travel on test day. Large cities have more than one lab (three in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and New Delhi; two in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Chandigarh), which usually means more dates.

Punjab has the densest network: 18 of IDP's 77 Indian cities are in the state, and 7 have their own computer lab. If your home town has no lab, a nearby lab city such as Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar or Patiala may have more dates than waiting for a session closer to home.

Book with the same name and passport you will show on the day, and arrive with the original passport. For booking steps and payment methods, see our IELTS fee in India guide; for test-day rules, see IELTS test day rules.
