How much is the CELPIP exam fee in 2026?

CELPIP-General LS tests only listening and speaking, takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes, and is used for Canadian citizenship applications. Celpip.ca lists it at CAD 199 plus applicable taxes (celpip.ca). On 14 October 2026 the test date finder listed LS sessions only in Canada (CAD 199) and India (INR 9,500).

CELPIP-General, the four-skill test, takes about 2 hours and 50 minutes in one sitting with no separate speaking session. It is the version used for permanent residence.

These rules are from Paragon's policies page. If you cancel at least seven calendar days before the test date, you get 50% of the fee back; with less than seven days, you get nothing. You can transfer to another sitting of the same test type at least seven days before the original date. The policy summary says the first transfer is free and later ones cost CAD 50 or equivalent plus taxes; another clause says a transfer costs CAD 50 plus taxes, so check the amount shown in your CELPIP account.

With less than seven days to go, you must contact customer service, and Paragon may ask for documents such as a doctor's note before deciding. You cannot register for more than one test session within five calendar days.

A re-evaluation of one or more components can be requested within six months of the test, for a fee that is refunded for Speaking or Writing if your level goes up. Paragon replies in about one to two weeks, and each component can be re-evaluated once.

Scores are available in your CELPIP account two to four business days after the test, and Paragon says they are valid for five years from the date your score report is issued (celpip.ca). Your immigration programme may set its own time limit, so check it before you rely on an older score.

Celpip.ca says CELPIP is recognised by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, the Post-Graduation Work Permit and the Start-Up Visa (celpip.ca). Australia's Department of Home Affairs also lists CELPIP General among the tests it accepts when taken at a secure test centre (Home Affairs, celpip.ca).
