What PTE score do you need for Cranfield University?

Approved Pearson tests are PTE Academic, PTE Academic Online and PTE Academic UKVI. Cranfield verifies all scores with the test providers, accepts only tests taken within two years of the course start date, and cannot accept a combination of scores across two or more tests. In rare cases it may reject a result with one very low element.

Against IELTS, the same page sets 6.5 overall with 5.5 in all components, so PTE 65 (59) is Cranfield's counterpart to IELTS 6.5 (5.5).

If you missed the score you may be able to join a Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes course: the School of Management runs its own, and there is a separate pre-sessional for all other courses. Cranfield warns that not every English test is suitable for getting a Student visa for pre-sessional study, so check the pre-sessional page before you book.

For the Student visa itself, gov.uk asks for English equivalent to CEFR B2 at degree level or above and B1 below degree level, and says a university can assess degree-level applicants' English itself. Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Cranfield programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
