What IELTS score does Humber College require?

Humber says test scores are valid for 24 months from the test date to the program start date, and that some programs require a higher score than these minimums. Duolingo has not been accepted for the Pharmacy Technician diploma since the application cycle for the September 2023 term.

You can skip the test with one full year of successful degree or diploma study where English is the primary language of instruction, or, for any level except master's degrees, one year of full-time English-medium secondary school. A position on IELTS One Skill Retake and on IELTS Online is not stated by Humber.

Applicants below the minimum can finish Humber's EAP certificate instead: a 60% GPA in Semester 2 for certificates and diplomas, 75% for bachelor's degrees, and 80% in Level 8 for graduate certificates and master's. EAP is not listed as a route into the Nursing degree.

Humber's scores decide admission only. IRCC sets no minimum English score for a study permit; any language condition is written into your letter of acceptance (see IELTS for a Canada study permit). The Post-Graduation Work Permit is a separate test again. IRCC's PGWP eligibility page asks graduates of college, polytechnic and other non-university programs for CLB 5 in all four skills, and anyone who graduated with a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree for CLB 7. On IELTS General Training, CLB 5 is Reading 4.0 and Writing, Listening and Speaking 5.0 (IRCC score table). The PGWP takes IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General or PTE Core, not IELTS Academic, and college programs also face a field-of-study rule if you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024 (see IELTS for the PGWP).
