How much is the IELTS exam fee in Ireland in 2026?

IDP Ireland's rules for IELTS on computer are on its reschedule and cancel page: a transfer is free 15 or more days before your Listening, Reading and Writing date, costs up to 25% of the fee within 5 to 14 days, and is not allowed within 4 days. Cancel 15 or more days ahead and 75% is refunded; within 14 days nothing is. With a medical certificate sent within 5 days of the test, IDP refunds the fee minus a local administrative cost.

The British Council lets you transfer once with at least 14 days' notice, to a date within three months, for an administration fee of up to 25% (reschedule and cancel). If you are sick on test day and send a medical certificate within two calendar days, it refunds the fee minus a local administrative fee. Its UKVI policy refunds 75% more than 14 days ahead, 50% within 14 days but more than two days ahead, 25% within two days, and nothing on test day.

Nurses and midwives registering with NMBI need IELTS Academic or IELTS Academic for UKVI (or OET) with 7.0 overall. NMBI does not accept IELTS One Skill Retake, IELTS Online or combined results from two sittings, so a retake costs you a full test fee. For an Irish study visa you need IELTS Academic, and the immigration minimum is lower than most colleges ask (IELTS for an Irish student visa).
