How much is the IELTS exam fee in the Netherlands in 2026?

BLTC's own payment and prices page still listed EUR 283, UKVI EUR 305 and Life Skills EUR 198 on 14 October 2026, but the British Council booking system charged EUR 297 for every Amsterdam session that day. Trust the price on the booking screen. A British Council booking includes IELTS Ready Premium, with 40 practice tests (British Council Netherlands).

Results on computer typically arrive within two days with the British Council and in 1 to 5 days at IDP. Both providers offer One Skill Retake after a computer test, so you can resit one skill instead of all four (One Skill Retake). IELTS Online lets you take IELTS Academic at home, but the British Council says it is not accepted by immigration authorities.

BLTC takes iDEAL when you register online, a bank transfer, or PIN or cash at its Amsterdam office, and says it does not accept credit cards (payment page). Pay within 24 hours of registering; the payment must reach BLTC at least 48 hours before the test, and the confirmation email can take up to 3 days because staff check your uploaded ID by hand. IDP asks for a credit card to finalise payment (IDP Netherlands).

For ID, BLTC accepts a national ID card or passport from EU citizens and a passport only from everyone else; driving licences are not accepted (how to apply).

BLTC's FAQ says it can cancel only more than 15 days before the test, refunding the fee minus a EUR 70 administrative charge, and that you ask for a new date by email. IDP's Dutch reschedule and cancel page uses the standard rules below: 75% back 15 or more days ahead, nothing within 14 days. IELTS for UKVI and Life Skills follow the British Council's UKVI policy.
