How much is the IELTS exam fee in Zambia?

The British Council's Zambia dates and fees page says the online booking offers card or mobile money payment. If you pay offline, write your IELTS reference number on the cash deposit slip. Online payments are confirmed instantly and bank payments within two working days.

Zambians can book and sit the test with a passport or national ID; anyone else needs a valid passport. Student IDs, voter IDs and driving licences are refused, and under-18s need written consent from a parent or guardian. Bring the original document you booked with, or you will not be allowed to sit the test.

Standard IELTS follows the British Council's Zambia cancellation, refund and transfer policy; you cancel or transfer in the Test Taker Portal. Illness, bereavement and other exceptional circumstances can be raised with the test centre before the test or up to two calendar days after it, never once results are out. The centre replies within seven working days, and refunds can take 4 to 6 weeks.

IELTS for UKVI and Life Skills follow the separate UKVI policy: cancel more than 14 days ahead for 75% back, within 14 days but more than two days ahead for 50%, within two days for 25%, and nothing on or after test day. A UKVI booking can be transferred only once, more than 14 days ahead, to a date within three months, and the centre may charge up to 25%. The British Council lists CEFR B2 for the UK Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visas: at least 5.5 in each of the four parts of IELTS for UKVI. B1 (4.0 in each part) still applies to people already on those routes before 8 January 2026 who are only extending (British Council).
