IELTS venues in Hong Kong by provider
Lists come from the British Council's dates, fees and locations page, IDP's Hong Kong test centre finder and the ielts.org finder. The British Council's page still lists several hotels and schools used for paper tests, which ended in July 2026, so we show computer venues only. We do not list addresses; check the venue when you book.

How to choose a venue
For IELTS for UKVI or Life Skills, go to the British Council at Admiralty, the only venue marked UKVI approved on ielts.org; there you can also choose between an in-person Speaking test and a video-call Speaking test with a live examiner on some dates. IDP's Kwun Tong sessions we saw were mostly on Sundays (IDP Kwun Tong), while the British Council runs weekday dates, Monday to Thursday, at Admiralty and Tsim Sha Tsui.
Results for computer tests arrive in one to five days at both providers. If no date suits you, the British Council's IELTS Online (Academic only, HK$2,900) can be taken at home; check that your university accepts it before booking.

Macau and booking
The British Council also runs computer IELTS at five venues in Macau, including City University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology and Macao Polytechnic University, at HK$3,140 (UKVI HK$3,340), with Speaking by video call.
