Paper tests, UKVI and IDP sessions
The British Council says all its Lebanon tests move to computer from 1 March 2026. Its site still lists six paper-based venues (including the American University of Beirut and Saint Joseph University), but its booking system flagged only computer-delivered sessions, so expect to sit IELTS on computer.
IELTS for UKVI is offered in Beirut (British Council UKVI page). IDP has city pages for Baalbek, Chouf, Khalde, Nabatieh, Saida and Tripoli as well as Beirut and Zalka, but its finder showed no bookable sessions in any of them on 13 October 2026; contact Netcom Systems for dates.

How to choose a centre in Lebanon
The British Council charges USD 270 for IELTS on computer whichever area you choose. If you live in the north, Koura (home to the University of Balamand) saves the trip to Beirut. You can pay in cash at WHISH Money or BLOM and ARAB bank branches across Lebanon, so you do not need to visit Beirut just to pay.
