IELTS test cities in Vietnam by provider
City lists come from IDP's Vietnam test centre finder and the British Council's dates, fees and locations page. Many venues are universities, schools or English centres. We do not list addresses because venues move; check the exact venue in the finder or the ielts.org test centre finder before you book.

How to choose a centre
The fee is the same everywhere (VND 4,664,000), so choose on date and distance. In Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City the British Council lists sessions at 9.00 and 14.00 seven days a week, and IDP's Hanoi page showed sessions most days (IDP Hanoi). Provincial venues test a few times a month, mostly at weekends.
For IELTS for UKVI or Life Skills, go to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City: the British Council offers UKVI only there (British Council). If you might need a One Skill Retake, both providers offer it on computer.

Book online with the provider that runs the centre, or through the British Council's authorised registration partners. The British Council says it tests only at venues on the Ministry of Education and Training's approved list (British Council). How many IELTS test centres are there in Vietnam?+
IDP's finder listed 37 centres on 10 October 2026. The British Council adds its own venues in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and about a dozen provinces.
Where can I take IELTS for UKVI in Vietnam?+
Only in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. UKVI tests are on computer; paper UKVI ended after 29 September 2024.
Can I take IELTS in Can Tho or Da Nang?+
Yes. IDP lists centres in Can Tho and Da Nang, and the British Council also tests in Da Nang.
Is IELTS on paper still offered in Vietnam?+
Only for special arrangements and a few partner schools. Standard tests have been computer-only since 29 March 2025.
