What PTE score do you need for Keele University?

Keele University places each course in a language group. Group A needs PTE Academic 59 with 54 in each component, Group B 62 with 54, Group C 62 with 59 and Group D 69 with 62. Groups E and F go up to 69 and 82. Keele accepts PTE Academic including the online version, and different tests cannot be combined.

PTE rules at Keele

The table heading reads 'Pearson Academic (including online)', so Keele accepts PTE Academic Online. For students who need a visa, tests must be dated within the two years before the course start date in your offer letter. Different tests cannot be combined, and Keele treats your most recent English qualification as your current level.

Against IELTS, Group A is 6.0 with 5.5 in all components and Group B is 6.5 with 5.5, the level used by most Keele master's. For final-year undergraduate entry, Group A courses move to Group G.

If your PTE score falls short

Keele runs a pre-sessional English course to help offer holders meet their language conditions, and an International Foundation Year through Keele University International College (KUIC). The requirements page gives no PTE entry point for either.

For the Student visa itself, gov.uk asks for English equivalent to CEFR B2 at degree level or above and B1 below degree level, and says a university can assess degree-level applicants' English itself. Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Keele programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
