What IELTS score do you need for LSU New Orleans?

Graduate applicants send TOEFL 4.0 total (79 for tests before 21 January 2026), IELTS 6.5, PTE Academic 58 or Duolingo 105. The requirement is waived with a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited US college or university, or if you are from a listed country: these include Nigeria, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada (except Quebec) and Caribbean states, but not India or Pakistan. International freshmen meet the English requirement with one of ACT 18, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 500, TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.5, PTE Academic 50, Duolingo 100 or prior credit in a college-level English course. TOEFL, IELTS and Duolingo are not required from citizens of the listed countries, which for undergraduates also include Ghana, and earlier high school or college work in the US may earn a waiver.
