What IELTS score do you need for the University of Memphis?

The Graduate School also accepts TOEFL paper 550, iTEP 3.9, Trinity ISE (105 overall and in each skill), Cambridge 175 or completion of the Intensive English for Internationals (IEI) program. Upload unofficial scores when you apply and have official scores sent directly; decisions are not made on unverified scores. Some departments set higher minimums. Conditional admission is not stated by the Graduate School.

Citizenship of, or a four-year bachelor's or master's from, a listed country such as Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ghana, Ireland, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, Singapore, South Africa or the UK proves proficiency. India is not on the list. See admission requirements.

Undergraduates submit TOEFL iBT 61 (4 after 2025), IELTS 6, PTE 50, Duolingo 95, iTEP 3.7, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 540 or ACT English 21, or join the IEI program to gain certification and full admission. A letter from your school stating English was the language of instruction may be accepted, at the Admission Committee's discretion. See English proficiency.
