What PTE score do you need for McMaster University?

The page says PTE results are valid for two years and that a test should typically be written within two years of starting at McMaster; for September 2027 entry, a result counts if it is valid when you submit your application. It does not mention PTE Academic Online, PTE Core or how to send PTE results, though it asks for other tests to arrive electronically from the testing body.

On the same page IELTS Academic (and Academic UKVI) needs 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each component, and McMaster accepts the IELTS One Skill Retake. Graduate applicants are sent to the School of Graduate Studies for their language rules.

MELD and STEP are McMaster's two routes for applicants below the direct-entry level; the page gives their PTE entry scores in the table above. Complete STEP successfully and you progress to your degree in September.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your McMaster programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
