How long do PTE results take?

Pearson emails you when the result is ready. Sign in to myPTE, open My Activity, choose View Score, and use View as PDF to save a copy. The PDF is for your records only: Pearson does not verify printed reports, and institutions check scores on its online platform (handbook).

There are two ways, both free, per the Score Guide and the handbook. You can give the institution your Score Report Code (SRC), which is unique to each test, and it retrieves the report itself. Or you can assign the score in myPTE: search for the institution, tick it and submit. Each order takes up to seven recipients, with no limit overall, and it can take up to 48 hours before the institution can see the score.

Visas: if you ticked the box for Australia's Department of Home Affairs or Immigration New Zealand when booking, the score is shared with them automatically. For UK visas, a PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Home report carries a SELT URN that you enter on the application.

A PTE score report is valid for two years from the test date (Pearson), though Pearson notes that some institutions set shorter or longer windows. The handbook adds that scores should be assigned within two years, and that Australia's Department of Home Affairs accepts scores assigned up to three years after the test. See PTE vs IELTS for Australia PR for the visa scores.

Rescore: under the rescore policy (updated 25 August 2026), a human expert rescores your whole test for USD 160. You must call customer support within 14 calendar days of the result, it applies only to your most recent test, and you cannot request it if you have already booked another. The score can go up or down and replaces the old one; the fee is refunded if the overall or a skill score changes. A technical review of speaking audio costs USD 50 and does not change scores, but it refunds the test fee if a fault is found.

Retake: you can book a new test once you have your result, one booking at a time, up to 12 tests in 12 months (retake policy).
