Choosing a centre
Toronto's six centres (four Pearson-run plus Canadian Systems and Centennial College) give the most choice; the Greater Toronto Area adds Mississauga and Hamilton. Metro Vancouver has three Pearson centres (Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey) plus Abbotsford.
PTE's network is smaller than IELTS's in Canada: there is no PTE centre in New Brunswick, northern British Columbia or northern Ontario, where IELTS has partner venues. If you live there, IELTS General Training or CELPIP may be closer; both are accepted for Express Entry.

Choose PTE Core, not PTE Academic: IRCC accepts PTE Core only (IRCC). Choose the test, then a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead, and pay in myPTE. Your account name must match your passport exactly, middle names in Given names; you can correct details up to 3 days before the test, and a mismatch on the day means no test and no refund (how to book). You can book a retake once your last scores arrive, up to 12 times in 12 months (retake policy).
