PTE test cities in Sri Lanka
The official count comes from Pearson's price finder; the venue list from Pearson's seat search, searched from Colombo on 9 October 2026. We list areas, not addresses, because venues change.
| City or area | Venues in seat search | Tests |
|---|---|---|
| Colombo (Colombo 3, Kalubowila, Hokandara) | 3 | PTE Academic, Academic UKVI, Core, Home |
| Kandy | 2 | Same tests; check the session list |
Choosing a centre if you live outside Colombo
Candidates in the north and east have no local PTE venue. IELTS is far more widely available in Sri Lanka, including in Jaffna, Batticaloa and Matara, so if your university or visa accepts either test, compare the IELTS test centres in Sri Lanka before you book a long trip.
If you do travel, book a morning or midday slot so you are not rushing, and remember that Pearson only allows free reschedules while more than 14 days remain. Pick the right test first: our PTE Academic vs PTE Core guide explains which one you need.

To book, create a myPTE account, choose the test, pick a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead, and pay. Pearson accepts American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa, and a voucher or promo code is entered at the payment step (Pearson booking guide). Your account name must match your passport exactly; it can be corrected up to 3 days before the test, never on test day, and a mismatch means no test and no refund.
The fee is the same at every centre; see PTE exam fee in Sri Lanka, and take a free PTE mock test before you pay.
