What IELTS score do you need for Teesside University?

Teesside lists these minimums for postgraduate study, with research degrees at 6.5.

Besides the overall score you need a minimum in each band, which is 5.5 for the majority of degree-level programmes. Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice Studies, Optometry, Physiotherapy and Social Work, including the pre-registration MSc routes, need 6.5 in each band.

Midwifery, the four Nursing Studies degrees, Paramedic Practice and MPharm Pharmacy need 7.0 overall with 7.0 in reading, listening and speaking and 6.5 in writing.

For degree courses Teesside accepts IELTS Academic SELT and non-SELT, including online, PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI, TOEFL iBT including online, LanguageCert Academic and Trinity ISE. WAEC grades C6, C5 and C4 match IELTS 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0; NECO uses the same grades. Duolingo, One Skill Retake and IELTS validity are not stated by Teesside.

Indian applicants with 65% in CBSE or ICSE, or 70% from listed state boards, can combine that with a university interview to meet the English condition. Teesside's own English test (TELT) is free and its results are valid for two years. Its 4-band version is run at regional offices in Nigeria, Pakistan and Malaysia but is not provided in India.

If your English is below the requirement but not below IELTS 4.5, you can take a Teesside pre-sessional course. Courses below degree level need a UKVI-approved IELTS.
