What IELTS score do you need for Temple University?

Temple accepts official results from a test of academic English such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic or Duolingo. The College of Engineering repeats the same minimums, and the College of Science and Technology lists TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 110. Check your school or college for any extra requirements.

Applicants who completed an undergraduate degree in the United States or another English-speaking country are waived of English testing, and Temple's list of those countries includes India, along with Australia, Canada, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Singapore and the UK. See the Graduate School page.

First-year applicants submit TOEFL (Home Edition included), IELTS or IELTS Indicator, PTE Academic, iTEP, Duolingo, Cambridge C1 or C2 (180), the Michigan English Test (56) or SAT Reading and Writing. You are exempt if English is your native language or you have three or more years in a curriculum taught solely in English.
