What IELTS score do you need for Troy University?

Graduate applicants need Duolingo 105, IELTS 6.0, iTEP 4.0, Michigan English Test 53, Oxford ELLT 7, PTE 54 or TOEFL 4.0 (70 on the old scale). Doctoral applicants follow the same graduate English requirements. Some programs also need GRE or GMAT scores; check the graduate catalog for your program. See international admissions.

Letters about medium of instruction from a school, college or university are not accepted, so an English-medium degree from India or Pakistan does not replace the test. Troy's help desk adds that students can be admitted conditionally without the listed scores, then take an ESL placement test and meet its requirements before starting academic programs. Undergraduates need Duolingo 95, IELTS 5.5, iTEP 3.5, Michigan English Test 51, Oxford ELLT 6, PTE 46, TOEFL 3.5 (61) or a Cambridge A/AS result at C1. Troy's main campus runs English as a Second Language courses, with a placement test on arrival.

Applicants from listed countries do not need to prove English: they include Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, Guyana, Liberia and several Caribbean states. Nigeria, Ghana, India and Pakistan are not on the list.
