Yorkville English test minimums
Scores are from Yorkville's admission requirements page, which lists each program by mode of study. The undergraduate rule covers the BBA, Bachelor of Interior Design and Bachelor of Creative Arts; CAEL 60 with no component below 50 and iTEP Academic 3.9 also count. The online Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology lists CAEL, TOEFL, CLB, CanTEST, PTE 65 and Duolingo 130, but no IELTS score.
Conditionally admitted undergraduates take at most three courses in their first term, including ENGL101, and need C+ (67%) in it. Yorkville calls its scores minimum recommended standards that make you eligible for consideration, not a guarantee of admission.

Exemptions and the country list
Undergraduates can instead show secondary education where English was the primary language of instruction, at least 12 credit hours of English-medium post-secondary study, or a Languages Canada EAP program at B. MBA applicants can use a bachelor's or first professional degree taught in English, but Yorkville strongly encourages a test if that degree is from a country where English is not an official language, and warns that IRCC officers may still ask for proof.
Yorkville's graduate exemption country list does not include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal or Sri Lanka. A test validity period, and a position on IELTS One Skill Retake, are not stated by Yorkville.

Yorkville is a private institution, and IRCC's DLI list names the programs that qualify. For Yorkville University in Vancouver, they are the BBA (General), the BBA with specializations in Accounting, Energy Management, Project Management or Supply Chain Management, and the Associate of Arts degree. For Yorkville University/Toronto Film School, they are the Bachelor of Interior Design, the BBA (Project Management), the Bachelor of Creative Arts and the MBA. IRCC says you are not eligible if you complete any other program at the school.
Yorkville's scores decide admission only. IRCC sets no minimum English score for a study permit; any language condition is written into your letter of acceptance (see IELTS for a Canada study permit). The Post-Graduation Work Permit is a separate test again. IRCC's PGWP eligibility page asks for CLB 7 in all four skills if you graduate with a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree, and CLB 7 too if you graduate from "any other university program", which must also be in an eligible field of study if you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024. The lower CLB 5 applies only to college, polytechnic and other non-university programs. On IELTS General Training, CLB 7 is 6.0 in each skill (IRCC score table). The PGWP takes IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General or PTE Core, not IELTS Academic (see IELTS for the PGWP).

Yes. 120 with no subscore below 105 for undergraduate programs and the MBA, and 130 with no subscore below 120 for the online MEd, MACP and doctoral programs.
Is Yorkville University PGWP eligible?+
Only for named degrees. IRCC's DLI list names BBA programs and the Associate of Arts in Vancouver, and the BID, BBA (Project Management), BCA and MBA in Toronto, and says no other program qualifies.
What IELTS do I need for the Yorkville MBA?+
IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0, or PTE 58, Duolingo 120 or TOEFL iBT 83, unless your bachelor's degree was taught in English.
Does the Yorkville IELTS score count for the PGWP?+
No. The university's score is an admission rule on IELTS Academic. For the PGWP, IRCC asks university graduates, of degree and other university programs alike, for CLB 7 in every skill, proved with IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General or PTE Core.
