1

Do you usually wear a watch?

Yes, almost every single day. I feel a bit lost without one on my wrist, to be honest. I wear a simple digital one that tracks my daily step count, and it is especially handy when I am out jogging in the park and do not want to carry my mobile phone.

2

What kind of watches do you prefer to wear?

I definitely lean towards minimalist designs. I am not really into flashy jewellery, so a classic leather-strap analogue watch suits me best for work. It is understated, goes with pretty much any outfit, and I do not have to worry about constantly recharging a battery like with smartwatches.

3

Did you ever wear a watch when you were a child?

I did, actually. My parents gave me a bright blue plastic watch for my eighth birthday to help me learn how to tell the time properly. I remember feeling terribly grown-up wearing it to primary school, even though I kept checking it every five minutes during lessons.

4

Do you think people still need to wear watches nowadays?

Strictly speaking, probably not, because everyone checks the time on their mobile phone anyway. That said, I think plenty of people still treat them as fashion accessories or status symbols rather than purely practical tools. It is also much more polite to glance at a watch during meetings.

5

Would you ever buy an expensive watch as a gift for someone?

I would consider it for a really special milestone, like a university graduation or a significant wedding anniversary. It can be quite a meaningful keepsake that lasts for decades, though I would have to make sure I knew their exact taste before spending a fortune on one.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
