Test cities and format

IDP runs IELTS on computer in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Maulvi Bazar, Cumilla, Khulna, Jessore, Rajshahi, Bogura and Barishal, up to three sessions a day and seven days a week. Its pages list no paper option; IELTS is withdrawing paper tests worldwide from mid-2026.

UK universities typically ask 6.0 to 6.5 for undergraduate and 6.5 to 7.0 for postgraduate study; the visa itself needs B2, IELTS for UKVI 5.5 in each skill. Australia's Proficient English adds 10 points and Superior (8.0 each) adds 20. Canada accepts only IELTS General Training for Express Entry.
