Where to take PTE in Bangladesh and what it costs

Pearson-authorised centres operate in Dhaka; Pearson's own site does not list Bangladeshi centres on a public page, so confirm the venue through the official booking flow. Fees are shown per centre in Pearson's price finder; third-party listings quote roughly USD 210 to 220. By comparison, IELTS on computer at IDP Bangladesh is BDT 31,100.

Australia's thresholds are per skill for tests taken on or after 7 August 2025: Competent 47 listening, 48 reading, 51 writing, 54 speaking; Proficient 58 / 59 / 69 / 76 for 10 points; Superior 69 / 70 / 85 / 88 for 20 points. Canada does not accept PTE Academic for Express Entry: PTE Core CLB 7 is listening 60, reading 60, writing 69, speaking 68.

Score requirements change and vary by program and institution. Always confirm the current requirement with the visa authority and the institution you are applying to before you set a target.

PTE or IELTS?

Both are accepted for the UK and Australia with identical outcomes. IELTS has ten test cities in Bangladesh and a face-to-face speaking test; PTE is concentrated in Dhaka, scored by software and faster to return. If you live outside Dhaka the travel cost may decide it; otherwise decide by a scored mock of each.
