Test cities and format
IDP runs IELTS in Banepa, Biratnagar, Birtamode, Butwal, Chitwan, Ghorahi, Hetauda, Itahari, Kathmandu, Lamahi, Nepalgunj and Pokhara. Computer results are typically available within a day; paper sessions have been offered up to four times a month and are being withdrawn. You can pay by bank deposit, eSewa, FonePay or card at an IDP office.

Australia's Proficient English (IELTS 7.0 each) adds 10 points and Superior (8.0 each) adds 20, achieved within three years of the visa application. Canada accepts only IELTS General Training for Express Entry, and the result must be under two years old. UK universities usually ask 6.0 to 6.5 for undergraduate and 6.5 to 7.0 for postgraduate study. Australia is the largest destination for Nepali candidates; the student visa (subclass 500) band is set by your provider and visa stream, so check the course page before booking.
