Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Pokhara?

Pearson's test centre list named two PTE centres in Pokhara on 10 October 2026. Despite its name, Chitwan Medical College - Pokhara is in Pokhara; the Chitwan centre is ACE Testing Hub.

Pearson's list does not say which tests each centre runs on which day. In myPTE, choose PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Core first and then the city; only centres with open slots for that test appear.

Fees are national, so Pokhara costs the same as anywhere else in Nepal. IELTS figures are from IDP's Nepal fees page and the British Council's booking page, and match the prices on IDP's session lists on 10 October 2026; PTE figures are from Pearson's price finder with Nepal selected. Pokhara is one of only four Nepali cities where IDP's session lists showed IELTS for UKVI on 10 October 2026 (with Kathmandu, Chitwan and Biratnagar), so most UK visa candidates in the west need not travel to Kathmandu. The nearest alternatives are Chitwan (both IELTS providers, one PTE centre) and Butwal (British Council IELTS; PTE next door in Tilottama).

IELTS with IDP: pick a Pokhara session on IDP's city page and book online; IDP asks you to upload a scan of your passport or ID. IDP's session lists say computer results arrive in 1 to 5 days. IELTS with the British Council: register online with a valid passport and bring the same passport on test day (British Council booking page). It takes eSewa, a transfer to its Standard Chartered or Nabil Bank account, or a deposit at those banks' counters; you then email the receipt, passport copy and IELTS reference number to confirm. It says computer results typically come in 1 to 3 days.

PTE: book in your myPTE account on pearsonpte.com. Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport for every PTE test (a physical passport, not a copy), and the name, date of birth, citizenship and gender you book with must match it exactly, or you lose the fee. Pearson says results usually arrive within two days.

Every attempt costs the full fee, so try a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test first, and use the PTE to IELTS converter if your university states its requirement in the other test.
