What IELTS score do you need for Boise State University?

Boise State says most international graduate students must submit a Duolingo English Test, IELTS or TOEFL result, and PTE does not appear among the graduate test options. Scores must come directly from the provider: IELTS by E-delivery, Duolingo through Duolingo and TOEFL to school code 4018. You are exempt if you hold, or will hold before enrolling, a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree from an institution in an approved country where English is the primary language of instruction. The list includes the UK, Ireland, Canada (excluding Quebec), Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Malta. India is not on it.

First-year applicants can use IELTS or IELTS Online 6.0, TOEFL iBT or Home Edition 68, ACT English 18, SAT EBRW 450, Duolingo 100, PTE Academic 50, Cambridge 169, iTEP 3.7 or IGCSE/O Level English C, among others. Three or more years of secondary school in an approved country, taught in English, waives the requirement. See first-year admissions.

If you meet the academic requirements but score below IELTS 6.0, you can join the Pathway Program. IELTS 4.5 places you in IEPATH 030 (six English courses), 5.0 in IEPATH 040 (five English courses and one academic course) and 5.5 in IEPATH 150 (three English and two academic courses).
