The British Council fees come from its booking system, its UKVI page and ielts.org; IDP's EUR 307 was on every session at Touchstone Educationals in Paris.

What the fee covers, and IELTS for Parcoursup
A British Council booking includes IELTS Ready Premium preparation material (dates, fees and locations). Both providers offer One Skill Retake after a computer test (One Skill Retake). The British Council also promotes IELTS for Parcoursup applications (IELTS and Parcoursup); check that your programme asks for it before paying.

How to pay
The British Council in France takes a credit or debit card, PayPal, or Klarna instalments without interest (British Council France). IDP asks you to upload a passport scan and finish payment by credit card (IDP France).
Cancellation, transfer and refund rules: the providers differ
The British Council's French policy refunds an online booking in full within 14 days of paying, then 75% if you cancel 15 or more days before the test and nothing within 14 days; transfers are free 15 or more days ahead and cost 25% within 5 to 14 days. IDP France is stricter: its reschedule and cancel page refunds the fee minus an administration charge only if you change or cancel more than five weeks before the test, and charges the full fee within five weeks unless you have a serious medical reason, with a certificate within five days of the test.
PTE Academic costs EUR 270 in France (PTE fee in France). Check your programme's score, for example Sciences Po or ESSEC, and take a free IELTS mock test first.
