Is IELTS available in Russia?
No. The ielts.org test centre finder lists 175 countries and territories, and Russia is not one of them. IDP's Russia address redirects to its global centre finder, and the British Council's session listings return no Russian locations.
The British Council's Russia page says that in June 2025 the Russian Government announced a ban on all collaboration with it, and that it has no programmes or staff in Russia. A separate notice for Russian nationals says it has been added to Russia's register of undesirable organisations and that any connection with it could carry risks for Russian citizens or people with ties to Russia, even abroad. It asks people to assess those risks themselves; we cannot advise on them.
IELTS fees in countries near Russia
Fees were read on 13 October 2026 from each provider's own listings. Each country sets its own fee, paid in its currency. The provider column matters if the British Council notice above concerns you: Georgia and Kyrgyzstan have British Council centres only.

What to check before you book abroad
Use the provider's own site for the country you test in: IDP in Almaty, Yerevan or Tashkent, the British Council's Kazakhstan page, or the ielts.org finder for Armenia. In Kazakhstan, IDP also runs IELTS for UKVI at KZT 123,000. Check that your card works for international payments, and that you bring the passport you registered with.
