Is PTE available in Uruguay?
No. Uruguay is missing from the country list on Pearson's test centers and fees page, and Pearson's centre list has no Uruguayan centre. To take PTE you book a centre abroad and pay that country's fee.
Pearson describes PTE Academic Online, the at-home version, as suitable for study applications to institutions that accept PTE Academic, but not currently accepted by governments for visa applications. Book it only if your university confirms it accepts the at-home version.

Rules that matter when you test abroad
Outside your country of citizenship the only ID Pearson accepts is a valid passport, and the name, date of birth and citizenship on your booking must match it (ID policy). Pearson's rules are the same everywhere (cancellation and rescheduling policy, last updated 17 September 2026, and refund policy). You can reschedule free while more than 14 full calendar days remain. Inside 14 days the Reschedule button disappears, so you must cancel and book again. A cancellation more than 14 days out refunds 100%, between 14 and 7 days 50%, and closer than that nothing.
If the trip is not worth it, IELTS runs in Montevideo for USD 255 to USD 269; see IELTS exam fee in Uruguay and the PTE to IELTS converter. Take a free PTE mock test before you pay for a trip.
| Time left before the test | Reschedule | Refund if you cancel |

| More than 14 full calendar days | Free | 100% |
| 14 days down to 7 days | Not possible: cancel and rebook | 50% |
| Less than 7 days | Not possible: cancel and rebook | None |
