Choosing a centre
Auckland has the most choice, with centres in the CBD, Grafton and Manukau. Outside Auckland, sessions depend on the partner's timetable, so check slots several weeks ahead. There is no PTE centre in Tauranga, Dunedin, Queenstown, Nelson or Palmerston North; IDP runs IELTS in Tauranga, Dunedin and Queenstown.
When booking, choose PTE Academic: INZ lists PTE Academic, not PTE Core, and does not accept at-home tests (INZ). Choose the test, then a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead, and pay in myPTE. Your account name must match your passport exactly, middle names in Given names; you can correct details up to 3 days before the test, and a mismatch on the day means no test and no refund (how to book). You can book a retake once your last scores arrive, up to 12 times in 12 months (retake policy).

PTE Academic costs NZD 505 and PTE Home NZD 425. Reschedule free while more than 14 full calendar days remain; refunds fall to 50% inside 14 days and nothing inside 7 (Pearson policy).
