What IELTS score do you need for Trine University?

Graduate applicants upload an English placement test score of TOEFL iBT 79, PTE 58, IELTS 6.5 overall with a 6.0 minimum in every section, or Duolingo 95, or show an English test exemption. The Doctor of Information Technology needs TOEFL iBT 90, PTE 60, IELTS 7.0 or Duolingo 110, or an exemption. See the hybrid program admission page.

Trine's exemption document exempts you if you completed one academic year at a university or college in a country where English is the official language (intensive English programs excluded), or if you are from a listed country. The list includes Australia, Canada, England, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ireland, Kenya, Nigeria, New Zealand and South Africa, but not India or Pakistan. The document does not say whether countries where English is one of several official languages count, so confirm with intladmit@trine.edu before relying on it.

Traditional and hybrid bachelor's applicants need TOEFL iBT 71 or 4.0 (code 1811), PTE 50, IELTS 6.0 overall, Duolingo 95, KTE 444, or NETPAW or GETPAW at B2, or an English test exemption. Students enrolled at a US institution who have completed a 100-level English composition course plus at least 12 credit hours of 100-level courses are also exempt for bachelor's programs.
