What IELTS score do you need for the University of Bridgeport?

If you cannot provide proof of English, you may be admitted conditionally to UB's English Language Institute (ELI) and start your program after completing it. Graduate business applicants below the direct-admission scores may be considered for conditional admission, and three-year BCom and BBA degrees from Indian institutions with a NAAC "A" rating can apply to the MBA. The MS and EdD in Education need TOEFL 80 and do not offer conditional admission. See graduate requirements.

Visa-seeking applicants with secondary or post-secondary degrees from the US or select countries, such as Australia, Canada (excluding Québec), Ghana, Ireland, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, South Africa and the UK, are exempt. Undergraduates need TOEFL 75 (4 after 21 January 2026), IELTS 6.0, PTE 53, Duolingo 90 or EIKEN Grade 2A. Conditional admission is available, but some form of English exam is still required, and students without sufficient scores before registration attend ELI until they reach proficiency.
