What IELTS score do you need for the University of Idaho?

Graduate applicants can use TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, PTE Academic, Pearson English Express 58, a pass in the advanced level of U of I's American Language and Culture Program (ALCP), or a bachelor's or higher from an accredited US institution. All tests must be taken within two years of the semester you apply for. A waiver is granted automatically if your education is from a country where English is an official or native language; the list includes Australia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore and the UK, but not India or Pakistan. Select graduate programs grant admission to academically qualified applicants who have not yet met the English minimum. You study in the ALCP first and start the degree once you reach the required level; if that takes more than two years you must reapply. For Indian degrees, the page lists a four-year bachelor's, or a three-year bachelor's followed by a postgraduate diploma, and asks for individual mark sheets for every year.

Undergraduates submit TOEFL 70 (before 21 January 2026) or 4.0 (after), Duolingo 100, IELTS 6.0, PTE 48, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 550, a pass in Cambridge C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency or Cambridge International O Levels, or completion of the ALCP or listed intensive English programs.
