1

Do you like watching horror films?

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of them. I find that they tend to put me on edge, and I really struggle to fall asleep afterwards. If my friends suggest putting one on during a film night, I'll usually try to steer us towards a comedy or thriller instead.

2

How often do you watch this kind of film?

Hardly ever, really. I might sit through one around late October if there's a seasonal gathering, but on a regular weekend, it wouldn't be my first choice. I think the last one I saw was about six months ago at a friend's flat, and I spent half of it hiding behind a cushion.

3

Do you prefer watching scary films alone or with other people?

Definitely with other people! There is safety in numbers, isn't there? When you're in a group, you can laugh off the jump scares together, which takes the edge off the tension. Watching a creepy film by myself in the dark sounds like an absolute nightmare.

4

Did you watch horror films when you were younger?

No, not really. My parents were quite strict about age ratings, so I wasn't allowed near anything too gory or supernatural. The closest I got was probably reading ghost stories under the duvet with a torch, which felt thrilling enough at that age.

5

Why do you think some people enjoy being frightened by films?

I suppose it's the adrenaline rush. It's a safe way to experience danger and excitement without facing any real harm in everyday life. Plus, there's a real sense of relief when the film ends and you realise everything around you is perfectly fine.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
