1

Have you ever been horse riding?

Yes, I have, but only once during a summer holiday in Wales. A local stable organised a guided trek through the hills. I felt quite nervous at first because the horse seemed massive, but it turned out to be a really peaceful experience.

2

Did you ride horses when you were a child?

Not really, no. Growing up in a busy suburb, there weren't any stables nearby, and to be honest, it was considered quite an expensive hobby. My friends and I were far more interested in riding bicycles around the local park instead.

3

Is horse riding popular in your country?

I'd say it's more of a niche pursuit rather than a mainstream sport. You mostly find it in rural areas where people have the space to keep animals. That said, plenty of people enjoy watching equestrian events on television during major sports tournaments.

4

Would you like to take regular horse riding lessons in the future?

I think I'd love to, if I had the time and money. It looks like fantastic exercise, particularly for improving your posture and core strength. However, balancing weekly lessons with my current work schedule might be a bit tricky right now.

5

Why do you think some people enjoy riding horses?

I suppose it's the unique connection you build with an animal. It's not like riding a motorbike or driving; you have to learn to communicate with a living creature. Plus, spending time outdoors in the countryside is great for clearing your head.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
