How much is the PTE exam fee in the UK in 2026?

Inside the UK, the only SELT providers are Trinity College London, the IELTS SELT Consortium, LANGUAGECERT and Pearson, and for Pearson the approved tests are PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Home (gov.uk SELT guidance). The result must be from an approved location and awarded in the two years before you apply. On the Home Office list, PTE Academic UKVI needs 43 in each skill for B1, 59 for B2 and 76 for C1; PTE Home is a pass.

Not every Pearson centre is a SELT location. The Home Office list of approved UK centres (dated 2 October 2026) names 22 Pearson Professional Centres; the other 8 UK Pearson centres can run PTE Academic but not the UKVI or Home tests. Our PTE centres in the UK guide shows which is which.

Pearson's rules are the same for every PTE test (cancellation and rescheduling, refund policy). Reschedule free in myPTE while more than 14 full calendar days remain, up to six times; inside 14 days you can only cancel and rebook. For illness or a family emergency, use the Request Emergency Reschedule form with evidence no later than 72 hours after the appointment.

Pearson takes the full fee in the currency of the country where you sit the test, by credit or debit card or by Google Pay or Apple Pay; it does not accept PayPal, and a declined or charged-back payment cancels the booking or the scores (payment policy).

Choose the test, then a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead, and pay in myPTE. Your account name must match your passport exactly, middle names in Given names; you can correct details up to 3 days before the test, and a mismatch on the day means no test and no refund (how to book). You can book a retake once your last scores arrive, up to 12 times in 12 months (retake policy). For SELT tests in the UK the Home Office also accepts your eVisa (via a share code) as ID, or an expired BRP or BRC up to 24 months after expiry or until 31 December 2026, whichever is sooner (gov.uk).
