How much is the PTE exam fee in Switzerland in 2026?

Pearson prices PTE in Switzerland in US dollars, not the local currency, and asks for full payment in the currency shown. Your card issuer converts USD 400 at its own rate, so the amount in local currency depends on the day you pay.

IELTS is priced in francs: CHF 450 at Swiss Exams and CHF 445 at IDP, with IELTS for UKVI at CHF 465 or CHF 446 (IELTS fee in Switzerland). IELTS also runs in eight Swiss cities against two for PTE, and offers One Skill Retake, while a weak PTE score means a full resit. Compare the formats in IELTS or PTE: which is easier?.

Pearson applies the same rules in Switzerland as everywhere else (cancellation and rescheduling policy and refund policy). You can reschedule free while more than 14 full calendar days remain, up to six times per booking. Inside 14 days the Reschedule button disappears, so you must cancel and book again: between 14 and 7 full days you get 50% back, and with 7 days or fewer nothing.

For illness or a family emergency, Pearson may allow a free reschedule if you send the Request Emergency Reschedule form with evidence no later than 72 hours after your appointment; acceptance is at its discretion.

To book, create a myPTE account, choose the test, pick a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead, and pay (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson takes credit and debit cards plus Google Pay and Apple Pay, does not accept PayPal, and needs full payment in the currency shown (payment policy). You can sit PTE up to 12 times in any 12 months (retake policy).

Pearson says a genuine reseller offers the test at the published price or a small discount and never promises a score, and that it cannot recover money paid to third parties outside official channels (booking safely). Book on pearsonpte.com with your own email address and card. Take a free PTE mock test before you pay USD 400.
