What TOEFL score is equal to IELTS 6.5?+
TOEFL iBT 81–90 on the 0–120 scale, per the 2025 ETS–IELTS study, or 4.5 on the 1–6 scale used since 21 January 2026.
If my course asks for IELTS 6.5, what TOEFL do I need?+
Usually TOEFL iBT 81 or more, but many universities publish their own TOEFL minimum that differs from the official tables. Use the course's number.
What Duolingo score equals IELTS 6.5?+
Duolingo's concordance puts IELTS 6.5 at DET 120–125.
Is TOEFL accepted for UK visas?+
No. UK visas need a test on the Home Office's approved SELT list, and TOEFL iBT is not on it. Universities may still accept TOEFL for admission.
