Most do. Universities that accept One Skill Retake

One Skill Retake lets you resit Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking alone within 60 days of an IELTS on computer test, once per full test; the new Test Report Form recalculates your overall band (One Skill Retake rules). In India it costs INR 12,650 against INR 19,000 for a full test (IELTS fee in India).

How we counted: each figure comes from our own guide to that university, which restates its admissions pages (read 4 to 9 October 2026). We took the lowest rule each guide's tables give; where a table could not be read cleanly the university is left out of the count rather than guessed. Acceptance was classified by hand from each guide's text. The full list, with a CSV, is on our IELTS university requirements data. A course page can ask for more than the university minimum, so check yours before you book.

Timing matters: the 60-day window runs from your original test date, and the retake keeps that date, so the two-year validity does not restart. If two skills are short, a retake cannot fix both; book a full test. A scored practice module first is the cheapest way to check the gap is closable (free IELTS mock test).
